LESBOS. Mytilene. Circa 377-326 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 10 mm, 2.57 g, 12 h). Laureate head of Zeus to right; before, small serpent to right. Rev. Half-length bust of Nike to right, wings spread and draped, wearing laurel wreath, pendant earrings and pearl necklace; above, two stars; all within linear square. Bodenstedt 101. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG von Aulock 7741. A beautiful piece with a wonderful rendering of Nike on the reverse. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
